Bowers v. Housekeeping Services of Hilton Head Llc et al
Filed: May 16, 2018 ◆§ 9:18cv1341
A proposed collective action filed against Housekeeping Services of Hilton Head, LLC seeks allegedly unpaid overtime wages stemming from meal breaks employees were supposedly unable to take.
South Carolina
A proposed collective action has been filed against Housekeeping Services of Hilton Head, LLC and the company’s CEO seeking allegedly unpaid overtime wages stemming from meal breaks employees were supposedly unable to take. The plaintiff in the case says he worked for the defendants as a delivery driver and was responsible for picking up and dropping off linens from hotels, restaurants, resorts, and health clubs in the areas around Hilton Head, South Carolina. According to the complaint, delivery drivers were required to adhere to strict schedules and would often work through their automatically deducted 30-minute meal breaks to stay on track. As a result, the case argues, drivers frequently worked two-and-a-half hours of overtime per week without being paid – an alleged violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
