MZL Home Care Agency LLC is on the receiving end of a proposed class and collective action filed by a former employee who says she worked for the defendant as a home health care worker without being paid proper wages. According to the suit, the plaintiff sometimes worked more than 40 hours per week without receiving time-and-a-half premium pay. On top of that, the complaint alleges that MZL participated in managed care plans that allowed it to be reimbursed for its services with Medicaid funds. As a result, the suit argues, employees like the plaintiff should have been paid according to the Wage Parity Law, yet did not receive “the total minimum compensation required” by the law.
