A former employee of Master Development has filed suit against the construction business’s two operating companies and an individual over claims that they failed to pay him proper overtime wages.
New York
A former employee of Master Development has filed suit against the construction business’s two operating companies and an individual owner over claims that they failed to pay him proper overtime wages. The man says he worked for the defendants as a construction worker between July 2015 and August 2017, and regularly worked at least 60 – and up to 90 – hours per week. Despite the long workweeks, the defendants never paid the plaintiff time-and-a-half overtime wages for the hours he worked above 40, according to the complaint.
The plaintiff further argues that he was not permitted to take breaks or meal periods “of any kind” and was not provided with required wage notices and statements.
