Help at Home Homecare, LLC and two individual owners are on the receiving end of a proposed collective action that claims the defendants failed to pay their employees proper overtime wages. The plaintiff in the case allegedly worked for the senior healthcare provider as a staffing coordinator between June 2015 and May 2017. According to the complaint, she and similarly situated employees were required to be “on call” after their shifts ended and on weekends and were unable to use their time for their own purposes while on call. The plaintiff says she received “only a flat fee” for these hours instead of the time-and-a-half overtime wages that she claims she should have been paid.
