Florida
Back in August, a former employee of Cypress Communications, Inc. and Cypress Communications of S. Florida, Inc. filed suit against the two companies and an individual owner, claiming he and similarly situated workers are owed unpaid overtime wages. The plaintiff, who worked for Cypress from July 2016 and June 2017, says he and other piece-rate cable technicians routinely worked more than 40 hours per week for the defendants and never received time-and-a-half overtime wages for the hours they worked above 40 each week.
