Lawsuit Claims Time-Keeping Errors Robbed Security Officers of Rightful Overtime Pay

Beavers v. Command Security Corporation
Filed: February 1, 2018 ◆§ 3:18cv194
Command Security Corporation is the defendant in a lawsuit alleging security officers were not paid time-and-a-half wages for all overtime hours worked.
Command Security Corporation is the defendant in a proposed collective action in which the plaintiff claims he and other security officers were not paid time-and-a-half wages for all overtime hours worked. According to the complaint, the plaintiff, still employed by the defendant, had worked numerous overtime hours since starting his job in October 2017, yet discovered some of his work time has been edited off the company’s time-keeping system. The plaintiff claims that although he did report these supposed time-keeping discrepancies to the defendant, Command Security has only compensated him for most, but not all, of his unpaid overtime hours.
“[The plaintiff] notified the defendant that after receiving his paycheck for a two-week period of time, there still were errors and missing time that he was not paid time and one half for all the overtime hours worked of approximately 56 hours,” the lawsuit alleges.
The case adds the defendant, either as a result of time-keeping errors or an intentional deletion of employee work time, has also allegedly shorted the plaintiff on the mandatory minimum wage for at least six additional hours of pay.
