Michigan
Sneaker Villa, Inc. is facing a former employee’s proposed class and collective action that claims it failed to pay proper wages to “key holders” who worked in its urban clothing stores. The plaintiff says she was employed as a key holder – i.e., retail store clerk – between March and September 2017 and never received time-and-a-half premium wages for the hours she worked beyond 40 each week. The suit further claims the defendant went so far as to alter employees’ timecards to reflect no more than 40 hours per week, essentially robbing them of their earned wages.
