MyExperian, Inc. is on the receiving end of a proposed class action filed by a group of nine former call center employees who allege they were not compensated for their off-the-clock overtime hours. The plaintiffs were customer service representatives, along with one supervisor, who were non-exempt hourly-paid employees, according to the complaint, and frequently worked more than 40 hours per week. Though the workers were required to manually report eight hours of work per day, the plaintiffs argue that they spent time before and after each shift performing work that went uncompensated – such as logging in to their computers and taking final customer calls that extended beyond the end of their shifts. The case claims this off-the-clock work, which allegedly amounted to between five and 10 hours per week, should have been compensated at a premium time-and-a-half overtime rate.
