Lawsuit Claims Florida Construction Company Shaves Off Employees’ Due Wages

A former carpenter for United & Strong III, Inc. has filed suit against the construction company seeking to recover allegedly unpaid wages. The plaintiff argues that the company failed to pay employees for time they spent cleaning the job site at the end of each day and that any overtime hours they accumulated were compensated, if at all, in “comp time” rather than actual wages. As a result, the case argues, employees were provided with the equivalent of straight-time pay rather than time-and-a-half premium wages for any hours they worked above 40 in a week.
