Rodney v. Digital Media, Inc.
Filed: April 17, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv1644
A former cable technician claims Digital Media, Inc. failed to pay proper minimum and overtime wages.
Digital Media, Inc. is on the receiving end of a lawsuit filed by a former cable technician who claims he was not paid complete wages for every workweek during his employment. The case says the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from June 2016 through July 2017 and was paid at a piecemeal rate depending on the item he was tasked with installing in a customer’s home or business.
According to the suit, Digital Media withheld at least one of the man’s paychecks on the basis that he “did not provide advanced notice of separation from the company” and/or return company equipment per a contract stipulation.
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff, in addition to having at least one paycheck withheld by the defendant, was not paid proper time-and-a-half overtime wages for the hours he worked past 40 during certain workweeks.
