Roots v. Teague Enterprises, Inc.
Filed: March 9, 2018 ◆§ 3:18cv162
The lawsuit against Teague Enterprises, Inc. claims the company failed to pay time-and-a-half overtime - and kept its on-premises timeclock unplugged.
The company that does business as Larry Green Tire and Exhaust in Richmond, Virginia finds itself as the defendant in a lawsuit in which a former employee claims he’s owed unpaid overtime wages. According to the complaint, the plaintiff started working for the defendant’s predecessor as an auto mechanic in 1994 and stayed on with Teague Enterprises, Inc. after it bought the business until the end of 2017. The plaintiff claims that although he was scheduled to work 45 hours per week, he was paid no time-and-a-half overtime wages for hours worked past 40 each week. The case charges that the defendant failed to keep any time records for the plaintiff, possibly stemming from the fact that although the company had a timeclock on premises, it was kept unplugged and not used, the suit reads.
