Filed: May 11, 2018 ◆§ 2:18cv9138
Hoboken, New Jersey Indian restaurant Matt & Meera faces a proposed collective action filed by a former cook looking to recover allegedly unpaid wages.
New Jersey
The companies and individuals that run Hoboken, New Jersey Indian restaurant Matt & Meera are the defendants in a proposed collective action filed by a former cook looking to recover allegedly unpaid wages.
The plaintiff claims he worked for Matt & Meera LLC and Yesh Hospitality LLC from September 2012 through January 2018. The plaintiff says he put in approximately 44 hours per week from roughly May 2015 through September 2017 for cash wages that never varied depending on the number of hours he worked.
“[The plaintiff’s] pay did not vary even when he was required to stay later or work a longer day than his usual schedule,” the suit says, noting that the plaintiff was required to stay two hours past his usual departure time two days per week without extra pay.
The suit rounds out in alleging Matt & Meera failed to pay the plaintiff any wages at all for approximately six weeks toward the end of his employment.
