Florida
A former employee has filed suit against HT Restaurant Group, LLC over claims that the defendant, which does business as Hidden Treasure Raw Bar & Grill in Flagler Beach, Florida, violated several provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The plaintiff says she worked at the seafood restaurant as a server from February 1, 2017 to July 3, 2017 and was not paid proper wages. The suit claims the defendant unlawfully took a tip credit from the plaintiff’s wages despite requiring her to spend more than 20 percent of each workday performing non-tipped duties. Additionally, the suit claims the restaurant failed to pay the plaintiff overtime for the hours she worked above 40 each week, which she says amounted to at least 15 per week.
Lastly, the complaint accuses the defendant of failing to maintain proper records of employees’ hours and denying them required wage notices.
