A former employee of FHI, LLC and Freight Handlers, Inc. has filed suit against the companies along with an individual owner for allegedly failing to pay him proper overtime wages in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. According to the suit, the defendants provide logistics services to retailers and the plaintiff worked for them as a handler for more than 40 hours per week. He says he was paid according to a piece rate basis and never received time-and-a-half overtime wages for the hours he worked above 40 each week.
The suit seeks relief for a proposed collective of people who worked for the defendants during the past three years as handlers or in positions with similar job duties.
