Abreu v. Free Flow Construction, Inc. et al
Filed: January 19, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv20244
A former water and sewer pipe installer claims Free Flow Construction without paying time-and-a-half overtime for all hours worked over 40 each week.
An individual employed for 16 weeks in 2017 by Free Flow Construction, Inc. claims the company and its owner owe unpaid minimum and overtime wages. The complaint states the plaintiff worked 47.5 hours per week as a water and sewer pipe installer for the defendants from April through July 2017 without being paid time-and-a-half wages for his overtime hours. The case notes the plaintiff was sometimes paid at his regular hourly rate for overtime work, but most of the time was compensated only for 40 or fewer hours.
The plaintiff goes on to allege the defendants paid him with “four bad checks” for his final weeks of work, for which the case says the company owes nearly $2,000. All told, the complaint argues the defendants owe the plaintiff nearly $3,000 in unpaid wages.
