Abreu v. Free Flow Construction, Inc. et al
Filed: December 18, 2017 ◆§ 1:17cv24575
In addition to alleging he's owed unpaid overtime, a former employee claims Free Flow construction paid him four bad checks during his final workweeks.
Free Flow Construction, Inc. and its owner are the defendants in a former employee’s lawsuit in which the plaintiff claims he is owed unpaid overtime wages. The plaintiff states in the complaint that he worked 47.5 hours per week as a water and sewer pipe installer, but was not paid time-and-a-half overtime for every hour worked in excess of 40 each week. The man claims that he was sometimes paid for a few overtime hours, but most of the time his wages reflected 40 hours of work or fewer. Moreover, the plaintiff claims he worked at least four Saturdays during his tenure with the defendants, from April through July 2017, that total 32 additional unpaid overtime hours on top of those previously alleged.
The plaintiff’s claims continue with the allegation that he was paid with four bad checks during the last weeks of his employment that were never replaced by the defendants. The complaint ends by stating the plaintiff was forced to end his employment with the defendants due to the alleged lack of proper compensation.
