A lawsuit accuses four Brooklyn construction companies of violating federal and state overtime wage laws.
Victoria Consulting & Development LLC Alfa Renovation Corp. Art Sheet Metal Corp. Lombardy Contracting Corp.
New York
A lawsuit out of New York federal court accuses Victoria Consulting & Development; Alfa Renovation Corp.; Art Sheet Metal Corp.; Lombardy Contracting Corp.; and the companies’ chairman of violating federal and state overtime wage laws.
The suit was filed by five former employees of the Brooklyn-based companies who say they worked 52.5 hours each week during their tenures without proper time-and-a-half overtime compensation. The case further claims the defendants “knowingly and willfully operated their business with a policy of not paying the New York State ‘spread of hours’ premium” to the plaintiffs and similarly situated employees for shifts exceeding 10 hours.
In addition, the plaintiffs allege they did not receive proper wage notices or accurate paystubs throughout their employment.
