Florida
A teacher formerly employed by Acadekids Pre-School has filed a proposed class action against the company, Learning Center Corp., and two individuals over allegedly unpaid overtime wages. The case claims the defendants, two of which are the school’s owner and director, required employees to attend mandatory training meetings during weekdays, as well as complete work off-the-clock, without regular or overtime pay. Similarly, employees were allegedly required to attend work-related activities on the weekends, such as graduations or supervising daycare children during graduation activities, without being paid proper time-and-a-half hourly overtime.
