New York
Spandex House, Inc., New York Theatrical Supply Inc., and the president of the companies are facing two former employees’ claims that their business practices failed to comply with federal and state labor laws. The plaintiffs, who were employed as warehouse workers, say they were only paid for their first 40 hours of work per week and did not receive any wages at all, including overtime wages, for the hours they worked above 40. Even further, they were allegedly denied spread-of-hours wages for shifts lasting longer than 10 hours and were subjected to unlawful deductions from their wages at their employers’ discretion. On top of that, the plaintiffs claim the defendants failed to provide them with required wage notices and statements.
Upon confronting management about the alleged labor law violations, both employees were terminated, according to the case.
