Tunnel Taxi Management, LLC Millennium Taximeter Corp. Skilman Consulting Corp. Taxopark Garage Inc.
New York
A former employee of three taxi repair shops in New York City has filed suit against their four operating companies and two individual owners over claims that the defendants failed to pay him proper wages. The plaintiff, a mechanic who worked in each of the defendants’ three locations throughout his employment, says he often worked between 50 and 70 hours per week without receiving overtime wages and was not paid at all for his last two weeks of work. He further alleges that the defendants owe him reimbursement for purchasing three pairs of gloves per week to perform his job duties – which the complaint labels as “tools of the trade.”
On top of that, the suit claims the defendants failed to provide proper meal and rest breaks for their employees and neglected to supply them with accurate wage notices and statements.
