Sancho v. Claires Nails & Spa Inc. et al
Filed: January 12, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv224
Selden, New York's Claire Nails & Spa is the defendant in a wage and hour lawsuit wherein a former masseuse claims she's owed unpaid wages.
Two companies that do business as Claire Nails & Spa in Selden, New York are the defendants in a proposed collective action in which the plaintiff, a former masseuse, claims she regularly worked more than 40 hours per week without appropriate minimum, overtime and spread-of-hours wages. According to the complaint, the plaintiff typically worked 64 hours per week from July 2013 through February 2015 for $40 and later $45 per day, wages that supposedly remained static no matter how many hours she put in. The case also notes the defendants—Claire’s Nails & Spa Inc., Best Nail & Tanning Inc., and two individual owners—allegedly never provided the plaintiff with meal or rest breaks of any kind, while frequently requiring her to stay at work 30 minutes to an hour past her scheduled end time.
