Three operating companies of Talmud Torah Khal Adas Yereim and two individual owners are on the receiving end of a proposed collective action filed by a former employee who says he worked at the Jewish private school as a janitor and handyman without being paid proper wages. According to the suit, the plaintiff worked between 59.5 and 61.5 hours per week and was paid a fixed salary that didn’t include premium time-and-a-half wages for the hours he worked over 40. Moreover, the plaintiff claims he was never provided with any meal breaks, accurate paystubs, or wage notices in accordance with state law.
