MEC Development, LLC is the defendant in a proposed class and collective action alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and California state law. The three named plaintiffs claim they worked for the defendant as logisticians on a project for the U.S. Navy’s Persistent Ground Surveillance Systems (PGSS) that was executed between May 2014 and September 2015. According to the suit, they regularly worked 10-hour shifts four days per week and were not provided with the following:
- overtime wages for hours worked beyond 40 in a week and eight in a day;
- double rate for hours worked beyond 12 in one day;
- proper meal and rest breaks; and
- accurate and itemized wage statements.
The plaintiffs claim the defendant’s pay policies robbed them of due compensation that has yet to be paid to them.
