New York
Three former employees of Gourmet Unlimited have filed suit against operating company Green Gourmet Deli Corp. and two individuals with control of the business over claims that the defendants violated several provisions of federal and state labor laws. The plaintiffs – who were employed as deli workers and a grill man/chef – say they regularly worked more than 40 hours per week without receiving overtime or spread-of-hours wages.
They further argue that the defendants never provided accurate wage statements and required that they purchase “tools of the trade” – such as non-slip shoes and pairs of pants – with their own funds.
