A proposed class action has been filed against Lifestream Behavioral Center, Inc. by a former recovery specialist who says he wasn’t paid proper wages and was fired in retaliation for complaining about the defendant’s pay policies. The suit claims employees worked more than 40 hours per week but received comp time for the hours they worked above 40 instead of time-and-a-half wages. The plaintiff further alleges that a meal break was deducted from his hours every day even though he skipped lunch four times per week. On top of that, the case continues, the plaintiff (who is allegedly dyslexic) was required to complete paperwork off the clock and was scheduled to be on call one night per week without receiving any additional compensation.
The suit claims the plaintiff was fired after he complained about the defendant’s allegedly illegal practices.
