New York
ARJ Laundry Services Inc. (which does business as Self Service Laundromat & Cleaners) and an individual with control of the business are facing claims that they failed to adhere to federal and state labor laws. The plaintiff in the case, who performed dry cleaning duties for the defendant between January and November 2017, says she regularly worked 51 hours per week without being paid time-and-a-half overtime wages. According to the complaint, she was paid a fixed weekly salary that never varied even when she worked beyond her scheduled hours. On top of that, the suit argues that the defendants unlawfully withheld required meal breaks and accurate wage statements from the plaintiff and other employees.
