Sunrise Supermarket & Restaurant, Inc. and one individual with control of the company are facing a former employee’s lawsuit over claims that he was deprived of appropriate overtime wages.
The case says the man worked for the defendants out of Monroe County, Florida as a non-exempt employee from May 2012 to May 2018. During his tenure, the plaintiff supposedly clocked an average of 63 hours per week for a flat weekly salary of $400, which did not include time-and-a-half pay for overtime hours.
