Former Baker Alleges Bonafide Bakery & Coffee Owes Unpaid Overtime

From Florida comes a proposed class action in which the plaintiff alleges defendant Bonafide Bakery & Coffee LLC and two individuals with control over the business failed to pay time-and-a-half overtime wages. The plaintiff, who worked for the defendants as a baker from May 2015 through December 2017, claims he worked an average of 54 hours per week without being paid time-and-a-half overtime for every hour worked past 40. The complaint alleges the defendants willfully violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), arguing the parties recklessly failed to investigate whether their own payroll practices complied with the law.
