Hope Found Inc. and its CEO are the defendants in a proposed collective action wherein the plaintiff claims the assisted living services company failed to pay home healthcare workers proper wages. The plaintiff, who worked for the defendants from January 2014 through June 2017, claims she generally worked a minimum of 50 hours per week, and sometimes as many as 77 hours per week, without being paid time-and-a-half overtime for every hour worked past 40.
Citing alleged Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) abuses, the plaintiff further alleges she was misled by the defendants into believing she was not entitled to be paid overtime, only realizing this falsehood after she sought legal advice in April 2018.
