Gonzalez v. J & P Tiles Inc., et al
Filed: June 11, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv22332
A current employee of J & P Tiles Inc. claims in a proposed class action that the company owes him unpaid overtime wages.
A current employee of J & P Tiles Inc. has filed suit against the company and two individuals who run the business claiming he is owed unpaid overtime wages. The man says he has worked for the defendants as an assistant tile installer since February 2017 and regularly puts in 58 hours of work per week. Instead of receiving full time-and-a-half overtime wages for the hours he works over 40 each week, the plaintiff is paid an average rate of $12.50 per hour for all his work time, the complaint says. The lawsuit claims the defendants knew of their obligation to pay overtime wages but “recklessly failed to investigate” whether their pay practices complied with federal law.
