Family Dollar Services, LLC and Family Dollar Stores of Arkansas, LLC are facing a lawsuit filed by a former employee who claims she and other hourly workers are owed unpaid wages.
According to the suit, the plaintiff worked for the defendants’ Family Dollar location in Hot Springs County, Arkansas between March and May 2018. The case argues that the plaintiff and other hourly employees, who were primarily responsible for managing cash and sales transactions, regularly put in more than 40 hours of work per week without receiving appropriate minimum and overtime pay. The suit alleges the defendants were aware of how much time employees worked but knowingly refused to pay them in accordance with state and federal regulations.
