Castillo v. Barking Dog NYC LLC et al.
Filed: October 19, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-08051
Dog-friendly eatery Barking Dog NYC is on the receiving end of a lawsuit claiming a fmr. delivery employee was not paid lawful minimum wages.
Barking Dog NYC LLC, which runs a dog-friendly eatery complete with a “doggy drinking fountain,” and one individual with control over the business are facing a lawsuit that claims workers were subject to “blatant” wage violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The former delivery employee who filed the suit, who the case says worked for the defendants from January through September 2017, claims he was paid roughly $4 per hour and worked an average of 48 hours (and sometimes as many as 56 hours) per week without being paid the legally mandatory hourly minimum wage or time-and-a-half overtime.
