Liu v. H & J International Trading, Inc.
Filed: October 12, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-05986
H & J International Trading, Inc. (which does business as Dumpling Galaxy) and two individual owners are facing a lawsuit that claims they failed to pay employees proper wages and provide them with required wage documents.
New York
H & J International Trading, Inc. (which does business as Dumpling Galaxy) and two individual owners are facing a proposed collective action filed by a former employee who claims the defendants failed to pay her proper wages and provide her with required wage documents in accordance with state and federal law. The plaintiff was allegedly responsible for preparing and cooking dumplings, and, according to the suit, worked approximately 72 hours per week. The suit claims her employers neglected to pay her overtime wages for the hours she worked above 40 each week and spread-of-hours wages for each shift that lasted longer than 10 hours.
Additionally, the complaint claims the defendants failed to provide proper wage notices and statements detailing the plaintiff’s hours and pay rate, which it says violates New York law.
