Kaspereit et al v. Continental Resources Inc
Filed: February 7, 2018 ◆§ 5:18cv117
Continental Resources faces a proposed collective action in which the plaintiff claims the oil company deliberately failed to pay overtime wages.
Continental Resources, Inc. is the defendant in a proposed collective action in which the plaintiff claims the oil company deliberately failed to pay time-and-a-half overtime wages. The plaintiff, who worked as a completion supervisor for the defendant from June 2011 through December 2016, claims he was paid a salary but no overtime wages despite often working more than 100 hours per week – and despite the fact, the complaint alleges, that “it is well-known that blue-collar workers like Plaintiff…are not exempt from overtime.” According to the suit, the plaintiff was responsible for performing daily checklists, assisting with the preparation of equipment and other oilfield related tasks.
