Filed: July 10, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv22760
A former Coyo Taco worker has filed suit against the restaurant’s operating company seeking allegedly unpaid overtime wages.
A former Coyo Taco worker has filed suit against the restaurant’s operating company seeking allegedly unpaid overtime wages. Filed against Latino Concepts LLC, the lawsuit claims the plaintiff worked for the defendant as a non-exempt hourly employee, responsible for preparing food, cooking, and performing “general restaurant work.” The man says he typically worked 75 hours per week but wasn’t paid time-and-a-half wages for hours worked over 40. According to the complaint, the defendant sometimes paid the plaintiff at a half-time rate for some of his overtime hours while failing to pay him any wages for the rest of this work time.
The man claims he was fired on June 14, 2018, for “discriminatory reasons.”
