Century Park Associates, LLC is on the receiving end of a proposed collective action filed by a former employee who claims she and other office workers are owed unpaid overtime wages.
Filed in Tennessee, the suit claims the defendant, which owns and operates independent living facilities nationwide, failed to pay office workers time-and-a-half overtime for every hour they worked in excess of 40 each week. According to the plaintiff, office workers—responsible for, among other duties, bookkeeping and collections—were paid only their regular, straight-time hourly rate for overtime work.
The plaintiff claims she and similarly situated employees worked more than 50 hours per week—7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend hours—without proper overtime pay.
