New York
Alize II Corp., which does business as Caridad & Louie’s Restaurant in Yonkers, New York, and two individuals are the defendants in a proposed class action over alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York Labor Law. The plaintiff, who worked as a dishwasher for the defendants from May 2016 through November 2016, claims he and similarly situated employees worked well over 40 hours per week without being paid at the time-and-a-half rate for all hours worked over 40. The case also claims the defendants forced the plaintiff to sign a document to receive his weekly pay, but was never provided a copy of this document.
