Galeana Placido et al v. PJJK Restaurant Corp. et al
Filed: July 13, 2017 ◆§ 1:17-cv-05319
The operating company and three individual owners of sports bar Blondies has been accused in a proposed collective action of failing to pay employees any wages at all.
PJJK Restaurant Corp. (which does business as a sports bar in New York City called Blondies) and three individuals have been named as defendants in a proposed collective action alleging that they failed to pay their employees any wages at all and denied them other entitlements under state and federal law. The plaintiffs claim they were employed at Blondies as cooks and regularly worked more than 40 hours per week without receiving overtime wages for the weekly hours they worked above 40. They further allege that they were not permitted to take breaks and did not receive spread-of-hours wages for shifts that lasted longer than 10 hours. Additionally, the defendants neglected to provide wage notices or weekly wage statements to employees, as required under the New York Labor Law, the complaint says.
The suit seeks to cover the plaintiffs and similarly situated employees who worked for the defendants during the past three years.
