Filed: October 28, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv24506
Atlantic & Pacific Association Management faces a lawsuit from a former front desk employee who claims he's owed unpaid overtime.
Florida
Atlantic & Pacific Association Management, Inc. is the defendant in a lawsuit filed by a former front desk employee who claims he regularly worked more than 40 hours per week for the real estate corporation without time-and-a-half overtime pay.
According to the complaint, the defendant specializes in acquisitions, development, property management, and investments across more than 140 properties nationwide. The plaintiff, the suit says, began working for the company in its Miami-Dade County office in May 2017.
The case alleges the plaintiff, between May 2017 and May 2018, regularly worked upward of 40 hours per week during numerous workweeks without receiving premium overtime wages. More specifically, the plaintiff claims he routinely worked five days per week that totaled anywhere from 45 to 50 work hours. Per the suit, the plaintiff claims he’s owed wages for seven uncompensated overtime hours worked each week between August and November 2017 stemming from the defendant’s supposed failure to maintain accurate records of his start and end times. The case then states the plaintiff is owed unpaid wages for two uncompensated overtime hours worked per week for roughly 19 weeks spanning December 2017 and May 2018 due to work performed during meal break periods.
