Artopia of Orlando, LLC and an individual with control over the private framing company are the defendants in a proposed class action in which the plaintiff alleges current and former employees have not been paid proper overtime within the last three years.
The plaintiff, who worked as an hourly picture framer and warehouseman, claims he and similarly situated employees were paid a set amount each week regardless of the number of hours over 40 they worked. The man further alleges the defendants failed to withhold federal taxes, Social Security payments or Medicare contributions from employees’ paychecks.
