Paredes, Individually And on Behalf of All Other Employees Similarly Situated, v. J&B Cleaners, Inc. D/B/A Lincoln Terrace Cleaners et al
Filed: February 22, 2018 ◆§ 1:18cv1638
The plaintiff claims she worked more than 10 hours per day and averaged 66 hours per week at Lincoln Terrace Cleaners without being paid proper wages.
A proposed collective and class action has been filed in New York against J & B Cleaners, Inc., which operates as Lincoln Terrace Cleaners, and one individual over alleged Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York Labor Law violations. The plaintiff claims she handled cleaning, packaging and steam pressing duties for the defendants from October 2011 until February 2018. The plaintiff regularly put in more than 10 hours per day, the lawsuit states, and worked an average of 66 hours per week without being paid appropriate time-and-a-half overtime, spread-of-hours or minimum wages. According to the case, the defendants had no means of tracking the number of weekly hours the plaintiff worked and failed to provide her with mandatory wage notices at the time she was hired.
