A former employee claims he worked as many as 56 hours per week as a security guard without appropriate overtime wages.
A former employee has filed a lawsuit against 24/7 Security School, Inc., which does business as 24/7 Security of South Florida, and the company’s owners to recover allegedly unpaid overtime wages. According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked for the defendants from August 2012 through January 2018 (minus a period between March and November 2017) as a security guard. The plaintiff claims he worked an average of 54 hours per week between March 2015 and December 2016, totaling 1,424 overtime hours without appropriate time-and-a-half hourly pay. Between January 2017 and January 2018, excluding March-November, the suit continues, the plaintiff claims he put in an average of 56 hours per week without overtime.
