B&B Contracting and its owners are the defendants in a proposed class action filed in Florida over alleged Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) violations. According to the complaint, the granite, marble and brick installation company failed to pay the plaintiff, a former laborer and driver, and proposed class members at the mandatory time-and-a-half hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The plaintiff claims for a period of roughly three years he worked an average of 50 to 55 hours per week without receiving the FLSA-defined overtime rate for hours he worked past 40.
