Filed: April 13, 2017 ◆§ 4:17-cv-00233-BSM
A proposed class action has been filed against Nick Coyle, a district manager of tax preparation branches, that alleges he neglected to pay employees proper wages.
A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against Nick Coyle, a district manager of tax preparation branches in the state of Arkansas, that alleges he neglected to properly compensate his employees. The plaintiffs, who worked for Coyle as tax preparers, claim the defendant discouraged them from recording their overtime hours on the electronic logging system to avoid paying them required time-and-a-half overtime wages. Though the plaintiffs regularly worked more than 40 hours per week, they were not paid for any “off-the-clock” hours, according to the suit. The plaintiffs also argue that they were required to clock out for 30-minute breaks after every six hours of work, but were often forced to work through their breaks to meet customer demands.
The suit seeks monetary relief for proposed class members.
