Slayton One Cleaner Inc. and KLSC Cleaners Inc., which does business as Slayton Cleaners in New York City, and two individuals are the defendants in a proposed collective action stemming from allegedly unpaid overtime wages. The plaintiff, a former ironer who worked for the joint-employer defendants from 2004 until February 2017, claims he typically worked 58 hours per week without receiving proper time-and-a-half overtime pay. Although the plaintiff did receive raises throughout his tenure, the lawsuit alleges his weekly pay never varied when he was required to work more than 40 hours in a week.
