The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has been accused of unlawfully discriminating against non-citizen job applicants by denying them employment based on alienage.
The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has been accused of unlawfully discriminating against non-citizen job applicants by denying them employment based on alienage. The plaintiff in a proposed class action lawsuit against the company is a recent college graduate from Venezuela who is authorized to work in the United States through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. He alleges that he applied for an internship at P&G and was rejected solely because he is not a permanent resident, refugee, or individual granted asylum. The suit argues that this rejection violates the Civil Rights Act of 1866, and it seeks injunctive and monetary relief.
