JP Main Street Corp. and J.P. 538 Third Corp., which own New York City restaurants Hendriks and Hudson Place, respectively, and their owners are facing a lawsuit.
JP Main Street Corp. and J.P. 538 Third Corp., which own New York City restaurants Hendriks and Hudson Place, respectively, and their owners are facing a proposed class action alleging wage and hour violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). In the 21-page lawsuit, the plaintiff, who was employed by the defendants as a food preparer and delivery workers, claims he regularly worked more than 40 hours a week without receiving time-and-a-half overtime wages, not to mention spread-of-hours pay for shifts that lasted longer than 10 hours a day.
The plaintiff says he typically worked more than 50 hours per week without receiving proper wages. Additionally, the man claims the defendants allegedly withheld tips paid to him by customers.
