The owners and operators of La Casa De Los Trucos (The House of Costumes) are facing a class action lawsuit filed by a former worker who claims she was not paid proper overtime and minimum wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The lawsuit alleges the plaintiff worked an average of 48 hours per week—and 77 hours per week in October 2016—at $8.05 an hour for the costume and novelty goods retailer but was never compensated at the time-and-a-half hourly overtime rate required by the FLSA.
