A Florida man who worked for Oriluz Windows, Corp. from October 2015 through February 24, 2017 claims in a proposed class action lawsuit that the company and one corporate officer owe him and similarly situated workers unpaid overtime wages. The lawsuit alleges the plaintiff was “willfully and intentionally” never paid proper time-and-a-half overtime, even though he worked an average of 60 hours per week for the defendants.
The case further claims the defendants violated Florida law when it failed to carry workers’ compensation insurance and could not cover the plaintiff’s “numerous permanent” injuries sustained on the job while installing windows. The case says the plaintiff’s injuries were a result of the defendants’ negligent instruction and failure to maintain a safe working environment.
