An individual formerly employed as a waitress and hostess by Staten Island’s Kings Arms Restaurant claims the business and its owner failed to pay proper minimum wages under federal and state labor laws. The plaintiff claims 500 Forest Avenue Corp., the restaurant’s operating company, failed to reimburse employees for the costs of purchasing mandatory work uniforms and, in many workweeks, failed to pay the plaintiff for all hours worked.
The lawsuit claims the plaintiff spent roughly $210 on work uniforms for which she was never reimbursed by the defendants.
